Welcome to Key West

Envision yourself unwinding and getting into the casual clothes we wear in Key West while you look around and know you are in "Paradise" as our island is called. Then ask anyone and they will tell you the best place to stay in Key West is the Truman Annex. The Truman Annex is a former Naval base in the heart of Old Town. President Harry Truman used to vacation here in what is now a most beautiful residential complex named after him. In fact there is a wonderful tour of the home he used as his "summer" residence. I describe it more later on this website. You've no doubt heard about the daily sunset celebration at Mallory Square a short walk away and the price is right. It's free. The closest and best beach in Key West, Ft. Zachary Taylor State Park is within walking and biking distance. And I must mention some of the popular tourist attractions such as the Hemingway House; Mel Fisher's Treasure Museum; the Aquarium; and the Butterfly Expo. Right at the end of Southard Street where my two vacation homes are located, is the newly renovated Waterfront Park with a great new playground and water park. So speaking of water activities. How about snorkeling; fishing, sunset cruises, dolphin tours; para sailing? Key West has it all and more. Golf? There is an 18 hole course in Key West on Stock Island. OK. It's not Augusta National or Pebble Beach but you can keep your game up to snuff. Fine dining? Key West has it. From Blue Heaven with its' Yellowtail Snapper on Angel Hair Pasta dish to the steak at Prime, you will love the varied dining around our island. Well I don't need to continually extoll the wonders of our island since you probably have done your homework, so let me get into specifics about my two vacation homes "A Touch of Bermuda" and "A Touch of Cuba".

I'm a semi retired guy who was in the television and marketing/public relations industry and am now a professional character actor/singer on stage and I teach Marketing and Public Relations at a college outside of Boston, MA every Fall. My oldest daughter was married here in Key West and it's a special place for me,my two daughters and two granddaughters as I hope it will be for you. Why the Owner Chose Truman Annex, Key West, FL, USA: I always had TAE (Truman Annex envy) when my two daughters and I were visitors and renters in Key West. I vowed I'd live here one day and when I sold my public relations firm in 1999, I bought a two bedroom,one bath condo and five years later this larger two bedroom, two bathroom cottage. In 2016, I purchased a second vacation property in the Annex I call A Touch of Cuba. I am in Key West at least six months a year and rent out my two homes when I am not in town. I am on the board here at the Shipyard section of the Annex so I know lots of people and if I don't have an opening, I might be able to steer you to someone who does.
